From  the charm of Sri Lanka to the cheerfulness of India, our September-October tour of the sub-continent was one to remember.

​'Rose Bank', the lovely historic home where Dr Montessori and Mario lived when they were caught in India during the Second World War. Because they were Italian citizens and Italy had entered the war as an ally of Germany, Mario was interned for several months and Maria confined to the Theosophical Society compound. After being reunited, they were able to travel in connection with courses and lectures, but remained in Madras and Kodaikanal until 1946.
